Exotic trends are haute for Spring, so I couldn’t wait to visit my local Kohl’s department store to search for some fabulous items and create a stylish look for $100.

I went to the store armed with a Kohl’s gift card and as I walked through the women’s department, my focus went to one item…a leopard print dress from the Jennifer Lopez Collection. ($60.00 sale price $29.99)

Now oddly enough it’s the same dress that she was wearing on the signs in the store, so I knew I had to go into a different direction. I stopped and focused on the dress for a moment and started thinking of the glamorous ladies from the 50’s & 60’s. Even though many of them didn’t work outside of the house they were still impeccably dressed at home. These ladies exuded sex appeal and I feel that exotic prints are very sexy and timeless.

I decided that the dress would be the focal point of my look, but added a pair of black slim capri pants ($48.00 sale price $12.00) by Elle to complete my vision.  I went to the dressing room, and thought of a trick my mother taught me about turning a dress into a shirt but keeping a little of the length by wearing the hem diagonal. After I tried on the dress and capri pants I looked in the mirror and knew that this was the beginning of a fabulous outfit.

 I finalized the key pieces and then I was on a mission to find accessories. Kohl’s has an extensive variety of jewelry and accessories to choose from, so I had to really use some restraints. I did finally settle on a pair of black feather earrings ($20.00 sale price $14.00) and a cuff bracelet with feathers & rhinestone accents ($14.00 sale price $9.80) by MUDD and a fashionable thick black belt with a snap back and a bow in the front. ($28.00 sale price $2.80)

When I finally made it home I put on the entire ensemble and choose the living room as the backdrop for my Exotic Trends look. I wanted to capture the essence of a stylish woman in her environment at home and although she may spend time running the household, she looks absolutely fabulous while Glamming it Up with Exotic Trends from Kohls.
