I’m a woman on-the-go and just last month alone, I traveled over 21,000 miles. (Can we say free ticket coming soon?) I’ve been doing this for many years, so I feel that I’m the ultimate travelista, however what makes my time in flight go so smoothly are the basic essentials that I take with me on every trip.
First of all I live on the West Coast and for some reason lately all of my flights have been to the East Coast. Traveling from coast to coast can be difficult on the body because not only are you on the plane five to six hours, but you also have to get accustomed to a three hour time change.
I feel that your routine on a long flight is what helps you adjust quicker once you land at your destination and enables you to avoid many of the symptoms accompanied with jet-lag. I look forward to my trips because my travel bag has eight essential items that keep me focused, feeling fabulous and fresh for the entire flight.
First of all, I always travel with headphones because although I greet my seat partners, closing my eyes and resting my head against the window doesn’t seem to tell them that I want to sleep. So headphones along with my ‘Do Not Disturb’ eyeshades usually give them the hint…in a nice way.
If I’m taking a late flight, I usually have makeup on from the day and I bring face wipes with me in a zip locked bag to remove it before I close my eyes for the long flight.
I also put a little moisturizer on my face and use a shea butter based lip balm to keep my lips hydrated during the flight. But I have to admit that I do like to reapply a little makeup while we’re in the landing process, because I still want to look fabulous after I get off the plane.
I’ve experienced having a headache on a few of my flights and to me, it’s the worst thing to have because then you can’t relax or sleep. So I make sure I pack pain medicine in a gel formula to give me some relief so I can drift off and rest pain-free.
Sitting for six hours is a long time and I want to feel comfortable and fresh in flight especially because at times I’m going straight to work after I land. Keeping Always Xtra Protection Liners in my bag is truly a necessity because they don’t take up too much space and they help me feel fresh before, during and after my flight.
And the last item in my essentials bag is mouthwash because I only use the water in the lavatory to wash my hands and this is the best way to freshen my breath before I exit the plane.
If you’re a savvy woman like me who is always on-the-go, make sure you pack these seven items in you’re essentials bag so you can stay focused, fabulous and fresh while you fly to your next destination. Safe travels!
