Sunday Morning Inspiration: ‘Lean On Me’ by Kirk Franklin

“I am here…
You don’t have to worry, I can see your tears
I’ll be there in a hurry when you call
Friends are there to catch you when you fall
Here’s my shoulder, you can lean on me”

Sometimes when I look at the world today, I wonder what happened to true friendship. It’s really hard to find trustworthy and loyal people nowadays. Although I have been blessed to have many friends, God has blessed me with two women who have been my best friends from birth. My sister’s Ronda & Rolonda have seen me at my best and my worst, but it never stopped what or how they felt about me. They are the ones I share my secrets, dreams and hopes for the future with, in addition to my doubts, failures and fears.

I’m not going to say that we have the perfect relationship, but who does? But what we have in common is a mother who loves us all equally and a relationship with Jesus Christ… and honestly that’s what keeps our bond so tight.

Today if you don’t have friends who you feel are really in your corner or who you can trust, remember that there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother, (Proverbs 18:24) and He’s the best friend you’ll ever have.
