After suffering two brain aneurysms 26 year old, Christine Bolden, collapsed in a parking lot on March 1 and was later declared brain dead. At the time she was also pregnant with twins, but they needed to be at least 24 weeks before doctors would even consider delivering them. The family pleaded with the doctors to do everything they could to save the babies and although their mother was brain dead, the doctors kept Christine alive for a month on a respirator until the babies were 25 weeks and capable of being delivered via cesarean.
Twin boys Nicholas and Alexander Bolden were born on April 5 and weighed less than 2 pounds. They are currently on ventilators, and will possibly face many health issues in the future, but the family is happy to have apart of Christine Bolden with them at this time.
