3 Ways I Ease Discomfort on That Time of the Month

It’s tough being a woman and although I can’t say I’ve known many reliable people over my life, one thing I can definitely count on to show up on time is my monthly cycle. Since I was 13 years old, every month I have received a visit from my “grumpy girlfriend”. And when “girlfriend” visits, she always comes on strong like a category 5 earthquake ready to shake up my life for five long days.

  Even though at times I dread my monthly period, over the years I have found simple ways to ease the discomfort and make my life somewhat bearable.

Herbal Tea

I’m not a coffee drinker but I am a big fan of herbal tea. I usually drink herbal tea because it relaxes me and I just generally like the taste. After discovering that it also helps elivate some of the pain associated with my period, I started doing a little experimenting and that’s when I found out that drinking chamomile, fennel, ginger, or red raspberry tea helps to ease my cramps.

Heating Pad

Heat is a great way to ease some of my period pains and I try to use a heating pad every month. However, the main problems associated with heating pads are the size and the fact that they have to be plugged in. The majority of the heating units I’ve used over the years worked well while I was at home, but they were impossible to use in the work place. Hot Bath/Porcelain Ottoman
